She grew up and received her education in that area and was united in marriage to Jerry Hofer on May 1, 1966 in Ethan, South Dakota. After their marriage they moved to a farm north of Estelline in 1968. They farmed and raised livestock until moving to Watertown, South Dakota in the mid 1990s. Margaret died on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Sanford Healthcare in Sioux Falls at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 8 days. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and was very active in the womens organizations. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Jerry of Watertown; her children, Margaret Wipf and her husband George of LaMoure, ND, Jerry Hofer, Jr. of Estelline, Eli Hofer and his wife Rita of Bruce, SD, Raymond Hofer and his fianc Janelle Schmeling of Watertown, Elaine Wollman and her husband Wayne of Wetonka, SD, Lorena Hofer and her husband Tom of Ellendale, ND, Darrell Hofer and his wife Beckie of Cold Spring, MN; 14 grandchildren; six brothers; seven sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Rebecca Wollman; and her in-laws, Joseph and Annie Hofer.
