Riter was born on July 28, 1928 in Redwood Fals, MN, the daughter of Robert F. and Ruth (Storts) Pearson. She died on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD at the age of 78. Margaret received her education in Hecla, SD and was a graduate of the Hecla High School in 1946. She continued her education at Watertown Business University and became a beautician. She was then employed in Lake Norden and Volga, SD as a beautician. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Riter on March 25, 1950 in Maynard, MN. After their marriage, she was a homemaker and sold Avon for several years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden, the Ladies Aid and the VFW Auxiliary. Margaret is survived by her husband Lloyd of Lake Norden, SD, her children Eugene (Roxanne) Riter of Hayti, SD; Dean Riter (Cita) of Watertown, SD; Randy Riter of Lake Preston, SD; Michael (Theresa) Riter of Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren Darian, Amy, Travis, Kenneth, Jason, Lindsey, Dillon and Emma; eight great grandchildren; two brothers Roy (Pat) Pearson of Sacramento, CA; Robert (Irene) Pearson of Plymouth, NE; and one sister Ellen Colstock of Cambridge, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters (Dorothy and Lucille).
