Mary, J. Yoder, 74, of Estelline, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at her home in Estelline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, July 10, 2023, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Estelline. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the church, with a Liturgical Wake Service beginning at 4:30 pm. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary Jeanne (Snyder) Yoder was born on September 28, 1948, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the daughter of William and Jeanne (Bowron) Snyder. She grew up Rensselaer, Indiana, graduated from Rennsselaer Central High School in 1966. Mary was united in marriage to Wayne Yoder, in Las Vegas, NV, on June 19, 1972. They were blessed with two children Kelly and Ryan. Over the years, Mary worked a variety of jobs but retired as a CNA from the Estelline Nursing & Care Center, on October 8, 2010.
Mary enjoyed bowling, collecting salt and pepper shakers, playing cards with friends, quilting and sewing, reading, attending grandkids events and was a fan and liked watching the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football Mary was a kind, giving, good hearted person who was devoted to her family and the church. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sale Catholic Church, and their Altar Society, Finance Committee, Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, as well as a member of the Legion Auxillary.
She is survived by her children, Kelly (Jason) Buchert of Russell, MN and Ryan (Julia) Yoder of Estelline, SD; her grandchildren, Monica Buchert, Holden (Rebecca) Buchert, Jordyn Buchert, Corbin Buchert, Tobias Buchert, Anna Yoder, Jack Yoder, Leah Yoder; her siblings, Fran (Roger) Howard, Mag (Abe) Garber, Joe (Linda) Snyder, Rita Alfrey, Gini (Randy) Koch, Jill (Bill) Andres, Nancy (Dave) Walter and Dan (Darlene) Snyder, along with her nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; her parents; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Anna Yoder; infant sister Sandra Snyder; sister-in-law Evelyn Yoder, and two brothers-in-law, Denny Alfrey and Harold Mast
