Michael Gary Osborne, son of George and Evangeline "Ann" (Hammermeister) Osborne was born September 1, 1949 in Conde, South Dakota. He grew up on a farm near Raymond, South Dakota and graduated from Raymond High School in 1967. Michael served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973 and ended his enlistment with a year stint of shore duty in Viet Nam. Michael was united in marriage to Jean Lovelace on December 14, 1974 and to this union three children were born, Andrea, Mandy and Shawn. He worked in Onida at the feed lot and worked various construction jobs including UBC, Antonen and Hanson Construction, Lyle Poppen Construction and having his own business before retiring in 2011. He married Nola Hickey on September 24, 1994 in Watertown, South Dakota. Michael died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at his residence in Lake Norden at the age of 64 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Lake Norden and the Raymond Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church in Raymond and attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. As a young man he did bull and bronco riding in rodeos. Michael loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. He also loved his dogs Bo, Couger and Maddie. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Nola of Lake Norden; his children, Andrea (Cory) Binger of Clark, SD, Mandy (Corey) Audiss of Hamill, SD, Shawn (Val) Osborne of Fayetteville, NC, Kenny (Nicole) Hickey of Platte, SD, Rhiannon Bak (fiance' Bryan Cordell) both of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Gage, Cayden, Tyler, Cortney, Emily, Jackson, Livvy, Harper, Aedan, Chase, Emily and Dillon; a great grandson Bentley; his mother-in-law Alice (Art) Brevik of Loves Park, IL; a brother-in-law Ray Vomacka of Lake Norden; and a host of other relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. Visitation will be from 5PM to 7PM Sunday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Lake Norden.
