(Binion) Reese, daughter of Cecil and Martha (Wagner) Binion, was born May 6, 1930, in Rowan County, Kentucky. She attended schools there and graduated from Morehead State University. She married Paul Krauter and they had one son, James. They lived in Mansfield, Ohio. She later moved to Omaha, Nebraska and received her Master of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1974. In 1993 she retired after 31 years of teaching in elementary schools in Mansfield, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska. On January 5, 1980, Miriam married Howard Reese at St. Johns Lutheran Church near Honey Creek, Iowa. They lived in Omaha and in addition to her teaching career, she helped her son raise three grandchildren. In 2002 Miriam and Howard moved to Lake Poinsett and she entered the Lake Norden Care Center in 2004, where she resided until her death on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 20 days. Miriam is survived by her husband of 28 years, Howard of Hayti, SD; one son, James Krauter of Mansfield, OH; three step-daughters, Robin Adams and her husband Dave of Manilla, IA, Ronda Nelson and her husband Jeff of Underwood, IA, Renae McDonald and her husband Bill of Olathe, KS; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one step-great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter.
