Mitzi Ann (Blanchette) Hutt, daughter of Ivan and Anna (LaBrie) Blanchette, was born July 28, 1927 at Turton, South Dakota. She spent her early years and received her education in Estelline and graduated from Estelline High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Virgil Hutt on October 27, 1945 in Estelline. From 1955 to 1958 they owned and operated the Hutt Nursing Home in Mitchell, South Dakota. They then moved to David City and Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Estelline in 1983. While in Estelline they owned and operated the Kozy Motel and Trailer Court until retiring in 1994. She died on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 20 days. She was a member of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary where she served as commander and also served as secretary/treasurer of the Estelline Commercial Club since 1988. She enjoyed traveling and cooking and loved to read and work crossword puzzles. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Virgil of Estelline; five children, Jim Hutt and his wife Kathy of Tomball, TX, Pat Smith and her husband Bill of Lincoln, NE, Ginger Burch and her husband Tim of Orange, CA, Monica Yeager and her husband Gerald and Mark Hutt, all of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rachael Clark and her husband Dr. E.L. of Belton, TX and Joan Einck of Rantoul, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter Nancy Jean, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
