Nadene J. (Glines) Brenden, daughter of Frank and Elvera (Froke) Glines, was born September 22, 1927, in Vienna, South Dakota. She graduated from Vienna High School in 1945, and continued her education at Madison General Beadle where she received her teaching certificate. Nadene then taught rural school in Updahl Township, Hamlin County, South Dakota and was united in marriage to Marvin C. Brenden on July 2, 1949, in Sioux Falls. In 1952, they moved to Dempster and in 1966, Nadene started teaching at Estelline Elementary School and continued until her retirement in 1995. She died on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 81 years.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dempster and was also active in the Ladies Aid.
Grateful for having shared her life are one son, Kendall Brenden and his wife Mary of Dempster; two daughters, Jodi Brenden and Lanis Lantgen and her husband Kenny, all of Estelline; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Blagen of Milner, ND; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Nadene was preceded in death by her husband Marvin on September 20, 2006; her parents; one granddaughter Laura; and one brother Robert Glines.
