Noreen (Nordmarken) Leao, daughter of Harry and Jenny (Sheffer) Nordmarken, was born January 27, 1929 in Ecorse, Michigan. As a young girl she moved with her family to Minneapolis, Minnesota and was united in marriage to Eugene Leao from Sioux Falls, South Dakota on August 12, 1952 in Minneapolis. They moved to West Cliff, Colorado where Eugene worked on a cattle ranch before moving to Sioux Falls in 1953 where Eugene served with the National Guard. In 1957 they moved to Rapid City for the National Guard and in 1962 moved to Pierre. In 1968 they lived in Arlington, South Dakota before moving to Estelline in 1970 where they resided for 37 years and raised three children. In 2007 she and Eugene moved to Sioux Falls where she resided until her death on Friday, December 10, 2010 at the age of 81 years.

Noreen was a member of the United Church of Christ and was active in the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile and the DAV Auxiliary.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Eugene of Sioux Falls; two sons Craig Leao and his wife Lisa of Sioux Falls, Todd Leao of Watertown; one daughter Shelley Lemieux and her husband Mike of Pierre; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey Muscovitz of Coon Rapids, MN and Marjorie McCormick of Las Vegas, NV; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Noreen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Nordmarken.
