Norine Joyce (Tangen) Pedersen, daughter of Wallace and Joyce (Jensen) Tangen, was born March 11, 1958 in Brookings. She was raised on the family farm near Bruce and graduated from Volga High School in 1978. She continued her education and was employed at Lengkeek Realty of Brookings for a short time before beginning work at SDSU. Norine was united in marriage to Ron Pedersen on June 7, 1980 at Grace Lutheran Church in Bruce. She continued working at SDSU for 24 years before retiring due to health reasons. Norine died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls at the age of 56 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and driving her golf cart. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Ron of Estelline; one brother Greg Tangen and his wife Laurie of Bruce; two sisters, Nancy Pickner and Nyla Noble and her husband Kevin, all of Sioux Falls; her mother-in-law Marge Pedersen of Estelline; two brothers-in-law, Doug Pedersen and his wife Aggie of Estelline and Curtis Pedersen; one sister-in-law Sue IntVeld and her husband Dave of Bruce; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Norine's funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Bruce. Visitation will be one hour preceding services.
