Brown Watertown, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 7PM Friday, August 5, 2005 Geise Funeral Home Estelline, South Dakota And Noon to 2PM Saturday Turner East Funeral Home and Crematory Cedar Rapids, Iowa Interment 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2005 Rogers Grove Cemetery Ely, Iowa Opal Lucille (Duke) Brown, of Watertown, SD, was born the daughter of Edward and Alice (Creek) Duke on September 17, 1920 in Van Buren County, Iowa She received her education in rural school in Van Buren County and attended high school in Lockridge, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Harold L. Loomis on June 17, 1939 in Kirksville, Missouri. Harold died on July 8, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Charles D. Brown on January 15, 1964 in Morrison, Illinois. Opal was employed at the Estelline Hospital and later at the Gambles Store in Estelline for three years. From 1976 until 1980, she was employed at Schnells Gamble Store and from 1980 to 1984, she was employed at the Estelline Care Center. Charles died on September 17, 1988. She moved to Watertown in January of 2003. Opal died on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, South Dakota at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 15 days. Grateful for having shared her life are one daughter, Alice Mae (Loomis) Wells of Watertown, SD; one son, Harold L. Loomis of Salem, MO; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Burr of Douds, IA and Francis Dosher of Salem, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; one son, Virgil Wayne Loomis; her parents; three brothers, Rosco, Herbert and Gordon; and two sisters, Elsie and Pauline.
