Randall John DeVille, son of Nicholas and Viola (Janssen) DeVille, was born April 25, 1954, in Watertown, South Dakota. He grew up in Dempster and Estelline, South Dakota where he attended Dempster Country School and Estelline High School, graduating in 1972. Randy was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Vicki Lynn Colberg on January 24, 1975 in Estelline. They moved to Rapid City in June of 1975 where Randy sold Successful Farming Magazine. They returned to Estelline when he came back for goose hunting and ended up purchasing the Estelline Bakery in the fall of 1976. Randy and Vicki owned and operated that business for 12 years. He then sold aerial photos for a few years and in 1994 he began work at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center and continued there until the time of his death. He had a great love for the residents there and treated them all like family. His loud, deep voice could be heard up and down the halls, teasing and joking with all his friends and co-workers there. Randy died suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the age of 54 years, 11 months and 1 day.

He had a great love of hunting and hunted each year from October through December, always bummed out when he had all the tags filled and had to put the guns away for the year. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan for many years and was overjoyed when they won the Super Bowl in January. Randy was a member of the Estelline Fire Department for over 30 years and also served on the Estelline Township Board for 15 years. Randy enjoyed bowling for many years with his famous bakery team.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, partner and friend of 34 years, Vicki (Colberg) DeVille; two daughters, Darcy DeVille of Wilmington, NC and her special friend, Marshall Geho, Stacy Hoitsma and her husband Derek of Sioux Falls; his mother, Viola Callesen of Sioux Falls; three sisters, Nicolette Christensen and her husband Bob of Philadelphia, PA, Dawn Ottoy of Miles City, MT, Lizette Aanenson and her husband Dennis of Sioux Falls; two special nephews, Christopher Hess of Lake Havasu, AZ and Shawn Hess of Dubois, WY, whom he thought of as two very special sons; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas DeVille; his brother, Thomas DeVille; his step-father, Ralph Callesen; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Dave Hess.
