Reese Walter Burge, son of Furman and Olga (Sannes) Burge, was born January 29, 1922 near Doland, South Dakota. He spent his early years in Doland and was a graduate of Estelline High School in 1940. He entered the U.S. Air Force on December 16, 1942 and lived in Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Washington DC, and Washington State during his 24 year military career. After his discharge in 1968 he returned to Estelline. Reese drove school bus for the Estelline School District for many years. He died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at his residence in Estelline at the age of 85 years and 3 months. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Estelline, the American Legion Post # 184 where he served as past commander and the Masonic Lodge. Grateful for having shared his life are his brother, Furman Burge of Cape Coral, FL; three nieces, Catherine Burge of Sebring, FL, Carolyn Daniels of Cape Coral, FL, Donna Nixon of LaGrange, MT; one nephew, Charles Burge of Pompano, FL; and many other relatives and friends, He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Donald.
