Ronald W. Goodroad Redfield, South Dakota Ronald Wayne Goodroad, son of Arthur and Gladys (Parliament) Goodroad, was born March 5, 1944 in Watertown, South Dakota. He lived at home with his parents in the Castlewood area until entering the Redfield Development Center in 1976. He died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield at the age of 71 years. Ron enjoyed going to the Special Olympics, field trips, dances, bingo, movies and going to church. He also helped with the delivery of legal papers to the offices on the Redfield Campus and was employed at the Canteen as a custodian. Grateful for having shared his life are his sister Marjorie Rue of White, SD; two nieces, Linda (Gale) Thomsen of White, Debra Rue of Brookings; one nephew David (Shanna) Rue of Hartford, SD; and also Ron's adopted family, the staff and residents of Redfield Development Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Gerald. His funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood. Visitation will be one hour preceding service on Saturday at the chapel.
