Roy F. Boughton, 82, of Castlewood, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, near Castlewood, SD. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at American Lutheran Church, in Castlewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 am. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Roy F. Boughton was born on February 17, 1937, in Montpelier, ND, the son of Bert and Esther (Froehlick) Boughton. He received his education at Montpelier and Wheatland High School, graduating in 1955. Roy enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He was united in marriage to Lois Neevel on April 19, 1958. The couple had five children, Eugene, Mahlon, Debra, Wayne and Cheryl. Roy worked construction for 28 years and drove truck for 20 years. In 2005, Roy semi-retired and worked part-time for the school in Castlewood.

Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his dogs. He was a member of American Lutheran Church in Castlewood.

He is survived by his four children, Mahlon (Ronda) Boughton, of Watertown, SD, Debra (Edward) Aderhold, of Castlewood, SD, Wayne (Billie) Boughton, of Aurora, CO and Cheryl (Michael) Collins, of Hayti, SD; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Marlys Boughton of Jamestown, ND.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Esther Boughton; his wife, Lois; son, Eugene (Lori) Boughton; two brothers, Harold and Lyle and one sister, Jean.
