Ruth E. Feldhus, 91, of Estelline passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Estelline; SD. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Estelline.

Ruth E. Borsvold was born on January 20, 1926, in Brookings, SD, the daughter of Lawrence and Ethel (Doop) Borsvold. Ruth was a graduate of the Volga High School in 1944.  After receiving her education she was employed at the Brookings Telephone Office for two years.  She was united in marriage to George Feldhus on April 17, 1946, in Sioux Falls, SD.  After their marriage they farmed near Bruce, SD until 1952 when they moved to a farm in Laketon Township in Brookings County.  George and Ruth retired in 1989 and moved into Estelline, SD.  George died on January 23, 2013 in Estelline.

Ruth was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Dempster, the Ladies Aid where she held several offices and also a member of the Peppy Pals Extension Club.  She enjoyed working on puzzles, watching the Minnesota Twins Baseball, and was known for her chocolate cakes.  She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and laughing at a good joke.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Feldhus of Arlington, SD and Harlan (Sue) Feldhus of Bruce, SD; one daughter Velma (Jack) Kreul of Hayti, SD, 10 grandchildren, John, Thomas, Kenneth, Luke, Patrick, Terri, Hilary, Amy, Katie and Jeff;  great grandchildren, Ashley, JJ, Kaitlyn, Katrina, Rebekah, Caleb, Moriah, Isabella, Sophia, Lily, Harley Sue, Kingsley and Rilyn; and special friend, Avery Hawley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters (Marsha, Wanda), one brother (Howard), one sister (Betty "Lorraine").
