Ruth A. Kangas Lake Norden, South Dakota Funeral Service 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 5, 2008 Old Apostolic Lutheran Church Lake Norden, South Dakota Interment Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery Lake Norden, South Dakota Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church Ruth Anna (Blakeman) Kangas, daughter of Walden and Isadora Peggy (Roberts) Blakeman, was born July 4, 1938, near Moorcroft, Wyoming. She attended Soda Wells, Wyoming rural grade school and Yacolt, Washington elementary school before graduating from high school in Vale, Oregon. Ruth was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Ronald Kangas on April 3, 1958, at Lake Norden and twelve children were born to this union. Her special interest and love was babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren and traveling to visit friends in faith with her husband of 50 years. Ruth attained her Sabbath Rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, after reaching 70 years of age. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Ronald of Lake Norden; five daughters, Darla Kangas and Edith (Alan) Kaski, all of Lake Norden, Joann (Lee) Jouppe of Hayti, SD, Carol (Randy) Reddig of Vienna, SD, Linda McClung of Vancouver, WA; four sons, Dallas (Molly) of Yacolt, WA, Shane (Alayne) of Hancock, MI, Reazo (Elaine) of Bryant, SD, Edward (Amy) of Lake Norden; 46 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert (Wanda) Blakeman of Hot Springs, MT, Silas (Mary) Blakeman of Marengo, WI; five sisters, Ida Lytton of Polson, MT, Mary Johnson of Spearfish, SD, Edith Efraimson of Kalispell, MT, Esther (John) Jolma of Marengo, WI, Retha (Rod) Massie of Battle Ground, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by three sons, Faron, Walden and Ricky; a son-in-law, Brian Miller; her parents; three sisters, Beulah, Eva and Dorothy; and two brothers, Raymond and Russell Blakeman.
