Carl Van Voorst, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 6PM to 8PM Tuesday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline Sidney Arnold Kalsbeck was born on August 11, 1924 in Estelline, South Dakota the son of Gerrit and Kathryn (Katze) Kalsbeck. He received his education in rural school Dist #6 near Estelline, SD and after receiving his education he began farming near Estelline. He was united in marriage to Stephena Bruinsma on February 23, 1945 in Estelline. After their marriage they continued to farm in Hamlin and Deuel Counties until his retirement. He died on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 14 days. He was a member of the Hamlin Reformed Church and served as an elder and deacon of the Christian Reformed Church. He also served on the Estelline Community Oil Board, Hamlin County Crop Improvement Board and the Estelline Hospital and Clinic Board. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Arnold is survived by his wife Stephena of Estelline; three sons Gerald Kalsbeck (Lori) of Estelline, SD, Steve Kalsbeck (Deb) of Brookings, SD, Roger Kalsbeck (Cindy) of Bruce, SD; one daughter Dawn Perez (Henry) of Miami, FL; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister Sylvia Archer (Russell) of Estelline, SD and one brother Marvin Kalsbeck (Jan) of Big Stone City, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Benjamin and one brother, Milo.
