Sharon Squashingroff, 80, of Watertown, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Prairie Lake Hospital in Watertown. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline.

Sharon Hale was born in Santa Monica, CA, on April 13, 1938, the daughter of Bonnie and Lucille (Frans) Hale. At a younger age she worked as a cashier for See's Candy along with working in a clothing store. She spent summers in and around Springfield, MO. She graduated from high school in 1956 in Santa Monica. She met Gerald J. Squashingroff, while he was serving in the Navy, stationed in California. They were united in marriage on September 6, 1959. She moved around with her husband, due to his work. The family lived in Porter, MN, Gary, SD, Hammer, SD, Florence, SD, Watertown, SD, Egan, SD, Madison, SD, Rutland, ND, Ottertail, MN, Estelline, SD, and resided the remainder of her time in Watertown.

Sharon loved to bake for everyone she was around. She also enjoyed growing flowers around her yard and watching the birds and squirrels at her feeders in her back yard.

She is survived by her four children, James (Catherine) Squashingroff, of Springfield, MO, Debra (Neal) Keller, of Wallace, SD, Lisa (Warren) Westover, of Sioux Falls, SD and Jerry (Lynn) Squashingroff, of Estelline, SD; nine grandchildren, Nicole Heisel, Traci Robinson, Brett Hanes, Luke Keller, Frances Squashingroff, Matthew Westover, Triston Errickson, Shelby Squashingroff and Morgan Squashingroff; six great grandchildren, Prasten Heisel, Zane Heisel, Kendra Robinson, Nola Hanes, Melia Keller and Tessa Robinson.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Squashingroff, three sisters, Bonnie Littman, Beverly Bullion and her parents, Bonnie Lester and Lucille Hale.
