Todd Simon, 49, of Luverne died in his home Saturday September 7, 2013. Funeral services are at 11:00 am at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Estelline SD, on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Visitation will be at Hartquist Funeral Home in Luverne MN from 4-6 on Friday September 13, 2013. Todd Michael Simon was born in Madison SD, September 12, 1963. He was the first of 7 children born to Michael and Doris Simon. He lived in Luverne, MN and worked at Rock County Opportunities. Todd enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and was a multiple medal winner in bowling, He loved to sit outside on the swing, go for walks, take vacations, listen to country music and most importantly spend time with his family. Todd enjoyed all family functions; however, leaving the party was also special to him in that no family member could leave the party without at least one hug. Todd had an infectious smile that would light up a room and make all take pause to remember the simplicity of life. He taught us compassion and shaped the minds and hearts of all whom he encountered. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Doris Simon of Estelline; a sister, Michelle (Doug) Tvedt of Brookings SD; Brother Mark (Elizabeth) Simon of Fairfax VA; Brother Doug (Molly) Simon of Marshall, MN; Sister Deanna (David) Stelter of Wood Lake, MN; Sister, Jennifer (Blaine) Radtke of Luverne, MN; brother Eric Simon of Inver Grove Heights, MN and 13 nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
