Viola "Vi" Southern Estelline, South Dakota Funeral Service 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 4, 2003 Geise Funeral Home Estelline, South Dakota Rev. Ann E.S. Webb, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 7PM Thursday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline Viola Mae "Vi" (Heibult) Southern, daughter of Richard and Jabena (Hector) Heibult, was born May 7, 1927 in Hamlin County, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education in the Dempster and Estelline Schools. After receiving her education she was employed at various businesses in Estelline until moving to Oklahoma for several years. She returned to Estelline and owned and operated Vi's Corner from 1975 until her retirement in 1991. She died on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the Deuel County Memorial Hospital in Clear Lake at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 24 days. She always enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. Vi is survived by one brother, Harlan Heibult and his wife Cleone of Brookings, SD; two sisters, Wilhelmina Petersen of Hayti, SD and Judy Bruinsma and her husband Donald of Estelline; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marian Sween of Estelline. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Lois, and two brothers, Willis and Ervin.
