Virlin L. "Bo" Rhody Castlewood, South Dakota Funeral Service 10:30 AM, Friday, March 21, 2003 American Lutheran Church Castlewood, South Dakota Rev. John Sandstrom, Officiating Interment Castlewood Cemetery Castlewood, South Dakota Visitation 5PM to 7PM Thursday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood. Virlin L. "Bo" Rhody, son of Virgil and Clarice (Propst) Rhody, was born February 21, 1946 at Watertown, South Dakota. He attended country school near Bemis, South Dakota until 1958 when his family moved to Castlewood. He then attended school in Castlewood and his family moved to the farm in 1963. After graduating from Castlewood High School in 1964 he worked at Lampert Lumber Yard in Watertown for a short time before he began farming with his father and was later joined by his brother Randy. After Randy's death in 1999, Virlin quit farming and moved into Castlewood. He lived there until entering the Good Samaritan Home in Clear Lake in February of 2003. He died on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 57 years and 27 days. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church and loved farming and doing mechanic work. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Clarice Rhody of Castlewood; three brothers, Calvin Rhody and his wife Donna of Lake Norden, SD, Clarence Rhody and his wife Melissa and Dana Rhody and his wife Jennifer, all of Castlewood; four sisters, Lorene Tvedt and her husband Richard and Brenda Woertink and her husband Todd, all of Castlewood, Kim Tesch and her husband Ronald and Valerie Simon and her husband Mark, all of Watertown; 27 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Virlin was preceded in death by his father Virgil on September 20, 1993, one brother Randy on March 18, 1999 and one sister Trudy in infancy. The family is requested to meet by 10:15 AM Friday at the American Lutheran Church in Castlewood.
