William Sonny Paso, Jr., son of Norman William and Milliana (Antijunti) Paso, was born May 2, 1951 in Watertown, South Dakota. He grew up and received his education in Lake Norden and graduated from Lake Norden High School in 1969. After high school he began working in road construction for Healy Road Construction Company and continued with that work until starting work with the Hamlin County Highway Department in the early 1980s. Sonny was united in marriage to Deborah Kasten at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden on May 16, 1987. He was still employed with Hamlin County at the time of his death. He died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his residence of an apparent heart attack at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 27 days.

Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Deborah of Lake Norden; two sisters, Kathleen Sotka of Bullhead City, AZ, Jeanette Kleindl of Newtonia, MO; a sister-in-law, Dorene Lemme of Lake Norden; his mother-in-law, Virginia Kasten of Lake Norden; his in laws in the Kasten family, Barbara and Arlo Carlson, Robert and Susan Kasten, Terry and Paulette Kasten and Gerald Kasten, all of Lake Norden; several nieces, nephews and great great nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Norman, and two brothers-in-law, Donald Kleindl and V.R. Sotka.
