Winfred B. Palmer, son of Austin B. and Fannie (Williams) Palmer, was born May 21, 1913 in Slope County, North Dakota. At the age of five years old he moved by train with his parents to Georgetown, Minnesota and received his education in rural school District #33 in Viding Township. Winfred continued his education in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Teresa (Weinacht) Lawson on January 4, 1975 in Audubon, Minnesota. They farmed in Clay and Becker Counties in Minnesota until 1985 when they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where he was employed as a maintenance engineer. He and Teresa moved to Estelline in October of 1997. He died on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 97 years, 8 months and 21 days.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline and the Senior Citizens Center. He especially enjoyed playing cards and doing volunteer work.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Teresa of Estelline; and one niece Shirley.
Winfred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Reuel and one sister Eulalia and one niece Diane.
