Our Story

The funeral home was started in Estelline by Ray and Blanche Ellsworth in 1948. They continued operating the business until 1968, when it was sold to Darald and Leota Geise. They owned and operated it as Geise Funeral Home until 1986, when they sold it to Pioneer Enterprises Inc. Darald continued as manager until 1989, when Orv Gedstad started as manager until he retired in 2016. Nic Polly took over for Orv when he retired and was the acting manager until Nic took a position at a different funeral home in Rapid City. Logan Brandriet took over and is the acting manager.

Over the years, visitation chapels have been added in Castlewood and Lake Norden to more fully serve those communities.
